Boule lumber highlight | Have you used boule lumber before? This special lumber is an entire sawn log with its boards in sequential order. Each board of a boule naturally shares characteristics with the others, making this type of lumber superior for color and grain matching. We have dozens of species in boule form, from Afrormosia to Ziricote.

Ancient bog oak crafted into beautiful, and comfortable, furniture | Between Andy Brownell of Brownell Furniture and Christopher Schwarz of Lost Art Press, 14 beautiful chairs, a dining table,
a kitchen table, and two occasional tables were created from 414 board feet of one bog oak boule.

Delve into Andy’s guest article to learn all about bog oak, from its history to the wood’s working properties. Radiocarbon dating a sample from this selected boule, Andy discovered the log was approximately 2,175 years old—give or take 25 years.
