Buying wood veneer with the FSC, PEFC or CITES label ensures that you are buying products from a company that is cutting edge in sustainability.
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC), established in 1993, is an international non-profit organization. They promote responsible forestry by certifying forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental/social standards. Our forestry certification program works to protect forests, as well as the people and species that live within them. We help support responsible forest management by using and providing FSC®-certified woods. We supply FSC®-certified wood under Certificate #FSC-C006082.
This organization promotes good practice throughout the entire forest supply chain. The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification® (PEFC) is an international non-profit and non-government organization. PEFC promotes Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification. In fact, PEFC is the largest forest certification system in the world. They ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. We have a mixture of PEFC-certified species under Certificate #PEFC/29-31-267.
Founded in 1960, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. Government agencies issue certificates in the country of origin, which document that the wood product has been harvested with approval. We have some rare and imported veneer that carry these CITES certificates.
In summary, FSC, PEFC and CITES are focused on sustainability and best forestry practices.
