WALNUT WOOD
Walnut quarter cut wood veneer heartwood ranges from a light gray-brown to a chocolate brown. The sapwood is yellow grey to nearly white while the grain is straight to interlocked with medium to coarse texture.
Common Uses for Quarter Cut Walnut Wood Veneer: Acoustic panels, architectural panels, millwork and cabinetry, as well as doors and furniture.
Other Names: Black Walnut, American Walnut.
The Tree: A native North American tree, reaching heights of 100-120 feet, with trunk diameters generally between 2-4 feet.
A Little History: Historically used for gun stocks, furniture, flooring, paddles, and a variety of other wood products. This wood veneer is incredibly popular among woodworkers because of its cooperative working characteristics. Stable, shock resistant, and strong.
