BOCOTE WOOD
cordia elaeagnoides
Bocote flat cut wood veneer heartwood is yellowish-brown with dramatic dark brown, to almost black, stripes. Grain is straight with distinct figure and some interlock. Bocote also has natural oil and luster.
Common Uses: Architectural panels, cabinetry, fine furniture and interior woodwork, as well as musical instruments and boatbuilding.
The Tree: Generally reaches 60 feet in height.
