Tasmanian Myrtle flat cut wood veneer heartwood is generally pink to reddish-brown, and can display a variety of colors. High natural luster with a satiny appearance.
Common Uses for Tasmanian Myrtle Veneer: Panels, furniture, and decorative applications. Tiger Myrtle (with dark brown to black handsome streaks) is prized for higher-end projects.

The Tree: Native to Australia, this species grows to heights of 100 feet with trunk diameters from 3-5 feet.
A Little History: Nothofagus cunninghamii is named for the 19th century botanist and explorer, Allan Cunningham, who is best known for his plant collection career throughout Australia.
