YEW PACIFIC WOOD
taxus brevifolia
Pacific Yew wood veneer has a light yellow sapwood. In addition to this, the heartwood is orange-brown and sometimes has dark purple and brown patches and veins. The grain is straight to irregular wavy and has a medium texture.
Common Uses: Architectural panels, cabinetry, doors, flooring, furniture, interior woodwork, musical instruments, as well as yacht interiors.

The Tree: Pacific Yew usually grows to a height of 20-40 feet, with a trunk diameter of only 12-15 inches. It can reach heights of 60-75 feet.
