Avodire quarter cut figured wood veneer is creamy white to pale yellow. This veneer darkens to a creamy gold color with age and when exposed to light. Avodire wood veneer has straight grain, but often exhibits a range of grain patterns such as wavy, mottled or rippled.
Common Uses: Aircraft, architectural panels, cabinetry and furniture, as well as marquetry.
Other name(s): African Satinwood or African White Mahogany.
The Tree: A tree of the rain forest, Avodire regularly grows up to 115 feet with diameters between 2-3 feet.
