Circassian Walnut is known in Europe as “Common Walnut.” It is also called French Walnut. The Circassian Walnut heartwood ranges from light to dark browns, sometimes with gray, purple, or red casts. Grown as a shade tree, it also produces edible, nutrient-rich fruits used in all types of recipes or simply eaten raw. The branches are sometimes grafted onto Claro Walnut trees in California walnut orchards, taking advantage of Claro Walnut roots because they are better suited to the locale. As a result, the trees produce more fruit. This slab measures 7.35′ long x 29.53″ wide x 2.56″ deep. Learn more about this species at The Wood Database and view various cuts of our Walnut veneer here.
