White Oak quarter cut wood veneer sapwood is white with light to darker brown heartwood. Straight grain with a coarse texture. When rift cut, the wood veneer is straight with no flake.
Common Uses for Quarter Sawn White Oak: Architectural panels, acoustic panels, cabinetry, doors and millwork, as well as furniture.
Other Names: Eastern White Oak, American White Oak.
The Tree: Native to North America, typically reaching heights between 70-80 feet, with trunk diameters between 2-3 feet.
A Little History: Because of its impermeability, white Oak is used for liquor barrels and other containers.
