GUM RED WOOD
Red Gum quarter cut wood veneer heartwood color ranges in pink, red and brown tones. Along with these colors, handsome, darker streaks form stripes on the veneer because of marbled heartwood. The grain is very uniform in texture and has a satiny luster.
Common Uses for Quarter Cut Red Gum Wood Veneer: Aircraft and yacht interiors, cabinetry, doors, flooring, furniture and interior woodwork, both acoustic and architectural panels, as well as store fixtures.
The Tree: Typically reaches heights between 80-100 feet, with trunk diameters usually between 2-3 feet.
A Little History: Was once a favorite choice for radio cabinets. Another fun fact: the largest quantity of Red Gum comes from the lower Mississippi Valley.
