The Tree: A wild looking tree found in the desert plains and canyons of North America. Southern Cali, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, as well as Kansas and Oklahoma are all home to Mesquite. Mesquite is a rather small tree that grows only about 20-50 feet in height.
A Little History: Although Mesquite is often considered best for firewood to smoke meat on a barbecue, its exterior burls can be used for special applications.
