Karri Burl is currently only available in our lumber department as live edge slabs.
Karri is among one of the tallest species in Australia. Heartwood is golden to red brown, sometimes with an orange or purple cast. Sapwood is grayish white. The color of Karri tends to darken with age. Interlocked grain produces ribbon stripe patterns on quartersawn surfaces.
Workability: Karri is considered difficult to work because of its density. It may cause tearout while surfacing. However, Karri Burl live edge glues and finishes well.
Common Uses for Karri Burl Slabs: Conference and dining tables, as well as other luxury furniture.
