Ash quarter cut veneer sapwood is nearly white, with wide and even texture. Its heartwood is grayish brown and light brown to pale yellow.
Common Uses: Architectural panels, cabinetry, flooring, furniture and interior woodwork, as well as shipbuilding.

The Tree: This is the largest of the 18 ash species native to the United States. It grows 70-80 feet in height with diameters between 2-3 feet.
