Buying wood veneer with the FSC, PEFC or CITES label ensures that you are buying products from a company that is cutting edge in sustainability.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international non-profit organization established in 1993 that is dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. They do this by certifying forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards. Our forestry certification program works to protect forests and the people and species that live within them by holding our company to better business practices that promote sustainability and biodiversity preservation. MBVC supplies FSC 100%, FSC Mixed and FSC Controlled Wood under Certificate #FSC-C006082. By using and providing FSC certified woods we are supporting responsible forest management.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization, the largest forest certification system in the world, dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification. PEFC works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. We have a mixture of domestic and North American species that are PEFC certified under Certificate #PEFC/29-31-267.
Founded in 1960, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. CITES certificates are issued by a governmental agency in the country of origin to document that the wood product was properly harvested with governmental approval. We have some rare and imported veneer that carries these certificates.
