Sapwood white to creamy-white; heartwood reddish-brown. Although maple’s grain is usually straight and smooth, the birdseye figured can be combined with blister, quilt, fiddleback, or burl grain, scattered over the entire tree.
The heartwood of Massaranduba is a medium to dark reddish brown. The grain is straight to interlocked or wavy. It also has a fine and consistent texture with a low natural luster. Massaranduba is from South America and also known as “Bulletwood”.
